Amman - Officials from Jordan and the United States are to meet in Amman Monday to discuss strategic cooperation, Jordans pro- government daily al-Rai newspaper reported Sunday.
The talks would focus on regional cooperation, regional stability, the situation in Iraq and the Middle East peace process, according to the report quoting Foreign Ministry sources.
Jordans Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton met in Washington on Friday.
The Jordanian government on Sunday came under fire from the media for its avowed plan to continue to fight al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.
The criticism was directed against Judeh who had said Friday that Jordan would continue cooperating with the US in its endeavours to hunt leaders of the terrorist network. |
